Health, Happiness and Well-Being Through Psychotherapy

It seems easier to not change old habits, but actually staying the same requires a tremendous amount of energy. We may deny our feelings and intently ignore growing stresses or passions for the sake of apparent continuity. In desperation, if things start to crumble around us, we may think that we (or our partners) must have some kind of mental disorder. By saying a person has anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, borderline personality, or schizophrenia, we effectively refuse to accept the wisdom latent in our confusing experience - and lose real potentials for growth.

Since unexpected events occur even in the best-planned lives, most people are able to benefit from "preventive" self-awareness that builds on strengths and assesses resources for the future. Psychotherapy can help you improve your crisis management skills through strengths-based consultation.

We are often unprepared for emotional events. In the past century our success in rationalistic progress has tended to distance us from our emotional selves. In therapy you can expect to learn how long-standing patterns of belief, perception, or emotion can be unlearned and changed - without the use of counterproductive medications.

In our consulting relationship you can expect to feel more at ease with uncertainty and with your self. New awareness and capacities emerge in an environment that is intuitive, welcoming and intimate. Wisdom traditions will assist our work as will the latest research in interpersonal neurobiology and behavior.

Sessions last either 50 or 95 minutes. I do not accept insurance. All forms of diversity are welcome.
